The Lighthouse

For the children and the warriors of light

I painted a picture of a lighthouse. It serves to illustrate the following:

The staircase represents the fact that with every single one of our thoughts and words, every experience, every memory and the feelings associated with them, everything we see or hear, we choose which direction we go in, or rather, how we experience our lives. That is what the staircase, or the steps, represent. Whether we go up or down is determined by the quality of what we give of ourselves or take in.

At the very bottom of the image, you can see people wandering around aimlessly. They don’t look particularly happy. Some are busy, others are searching, or simply one of many who have given up. It is brightest above the staircase. This area represents happiness, fulfillment, wholeness, love, and freedom.

Around the staircase, you see beings holding lanterns. They are simply there, at the entrance to the tower, to make the path visible. These beings are the lightworkers. Not everyone can see them at all times. We all know what it’s like when the sky is blue, the sun is shining, and the flowers are blooming, yet inside us, it is dark. But every now and then, there is a light. A sparkle that touches us. It is the spark within us that is ignited, and we begin to look. Lightworkers are not just people, but everything that kindles this light within us. Everything that deeply touches our hearts and reminds us that we are more than just one among many.

Lightworkers do not judge. They are merely guides. Full of love and light. They illuminate the path upward. Everyone must walk it themselves. And even if it sometimes seems that way, no one is ever truly alone. For the light is always there. We just don’t always see it.

As a lightworker, you sometimes feel more like a warrior of light, because we want to help. We see the suffering and want to fight it. I always thought I just had to explain to everyone that we create and perpetuate our own suffering. Out of a need to change something, and always with a pure heart and loving intention, I tried to explain and convey what one could do differently to find the way out of suffering. But what I now know is that every person must experience it for themselves. To truly know something, it’s not enough to just believe it because someone said so. And to truly change something, you have to be the change yourself and live it, not preach it.

In fact, you don’t help anyone by trying to protect them at all costs. As a lightworker, I had to learn that I can only help if I am happy myself. I can shine as brightly as a lighthouse, simply guiding the way and remaining silent. What I have to say, I write down here. And whoever finds these words may decide for themselves whether they want to read them or not.

We are all children of the light, no matter how much we have understood that. We are all where we are meant to be. No one is better or worse. Any form of judgment is unhelpful. It has always served only the ego, and that is precisely what we want to distance ourselves from. Labels and categories belong to the construct of a world that is dissolving. We are not here to torment ourselves, but to simply be. It is about freedom. One is free only when free from judgment. When one is allowed to be. And that is an inner process. If you don’t care, anyone can judge you however they want. Peace always begins within oneself.
