Flow of Life

The less resistance we put up, the faster we’ll get to where we belong.

Let’s imagine we’re floating in the water. Our goal is to arrive. We usually think we know what “arriving” actually means. But is that really the case?

So we’re floating in the water. How do you manage that without sinking? As a child, I did this often: breathing calmly, carefully moving my feet from the bottom to the surface of the water, spreading my arms, letting the waves carry me. My own movements were allowed to support my body only very gently, without counteracting the natural movements of the water.

Like water, life does not stand still. It is like a river. And we all drift in it—defying the natural currents.

We know we should relax. And of course, we incorporate that into our weekly schedule every now and then. When time allows—because, after all, we have to keep moving forward.

So in the river, we cling to every rock we can get our hands on. That’s still easy. Holding on is exhausting. But to achieve something, it has to be exhausting, doesn’t it?

The destination is the open sea. To reach it, we must let go—without knowing, without control. In the stillness of relaxation, intuitive, gentle movements arise that support the body in the natural flow of life.

What are we still holding on to?

We should always ask ourselves whether we are truly following our hearts. Do we do what we do out of love? Or out of fear?
