Ancient Desert

The only things I knew for sure before I started painting were the colors: Dark Yellow, Burnt Sienna, Gold Ocher, and the rough, unprimed, natural-colored canvas.
I certainly do care where this whole process leads! Even if I don’t yet know the subject matter at the start, I know what texture I want to create, what mood the painting will have, and what it is capable of conveying.
I don’t care how long it takes me to finish, or how many of my clothes are still covered in paint stains.
My deepest need guides me in every moment: to bring something to life. Confrontation, in my own way.
“Remembering” doesn’t quite capture it. Because remembering takes place in the mind. It’s about reflecting on our origins and what truly matters. I think we all know that anyway.
As long as we don’t feel it and our hearts aren’t in charge again—because that’s always the truly wise advisor—our thoughts won’t get us very far.
Or rather, they do take us very far—just in the wrong direction.
Breaking free from structures allows us to be free. Free to feel, to think, and to live and act for the good of all that is.
That’s why there’s nothing more to say about Ancient Desert. 💛🧡
