This image depicts the inner state of a resting heart and mind. An observer. He perceives without judging. He possesses a fundamental trust, without intellectual scrutiny.
In times of “transition”—when the old has passed but the new is not yet clearly discernible—it may feel as though we have lost our footing and are alone.
But something older than our earthly fears rests within each of us. It possesses the universal wisdom of the heart.
This is where we are at home.
The two “worlds” represent the old and the new. Neither is clear-cut or straightforward. You can look closely and still only guess at what might be there.
I wanted to convey that we don’t need to know exactly what was or what will be. We can simply dwell within ourselves—even when nothing is the way it used to be, or the way we imagined it would be.
