Anyone who knows me knows that I work with naturally formed stones—out of love for nature and everything it creates. Here, I’ve used apatite.
The beads are faceted and come in various shapes. They come from two different strands of apatite. From about 100 beads, I selected the most beautiful ones for this radiant bracelet. Between the gemstones are spacers made of hematite in Aktik gold.
The beads were strung on exceptionally tear-resistant beading thread.
Apatite is traditionally believed to have properties associated with motivation, mental clarity, inspiration, and drive—which I could clearly feel during the crafting process 💙
Since apatite is relatively soft and brittle, it is sometimes stabilized so that it can be used in jewelry. This involves filling fine cavities, pores, and cracks with a colorless resin, which is then cured.
This does not mean that the stone is artificial: the apatite itself is naturally formed—it has simply been treated to make it more durable.
Stones such as turquoise, lepidolite, chrysocolla, larimar, and malachite are also sometimes stabilized in this way.
I could spend hours looking at all my stones. Full of humility and gratitude. When we realize that everything that is actually resembles a miracle, we stop searching so hard for happiness. Because it’s already here. In every moment.
